About ITM Multi-Turn Electric Actuators

A multi-turn actuator rotates its output many times to open or close a valve, which is what gate, globe and sluice valves with rising or rotating stems need. The ITM series does this with a three-phase motor driving a worm gear, and measures torque with a torque sensor rather than mechanical torque switches. Position is tracked by a Hall incremental encoder, and a 128×64 graphic LCD with 4-LED indication shows status locally. The handwheel declutches automatically, so manual operation is available when the motor is not running.

Five sizes are listed: models 180, 450 and 750 have a top handwheel, while models 1800 and 3000 have a side handwheel for the larger gear sets. Maximum torque runs from 177 Nm on the model 180 to 2,942 Nm on the model 3000, with ISO flange sizes F10, F14, F16, F25 and F30. Every model has an aluminium alloy body, an IP-68 enclosure and Class F motor insulation. An Ex d II C T4 explosion-proof version is listed as optional.
